Start with the Vision: The Ripple Effect of Dreaming Big (or Small)
Have you ever paused and thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun if…”?
That’s how this whole venture began for me.
I had a vision.
A simple one.
I imagined myself sitting at a table on a quiet Saturday morning, sipping coffee and signing books. Maybe once or twice a month. Maybe just as a hobby.
But here’s the thing about vision: It doesn’t stay still.
Once you picture what something could look like, it starts to take shape. It fuels your choices. It fuels your energy. It even fuels other people’s belief in you.
This banner, the one featured in this blog, is more than just a visual. It’s a snapshot of that original idea becoming real. It’s design meeting direction. It’s proof that what you imagine can actually show up in your life.
And now… the next step?
It’s time to schedule those Saturday mornings.
It’s time to take the vision and put it on the calendar.
This process, dreaming first, then working backwards, is how it all starts. If I want to be signing books on weekends, what do I need to do?
Write the book.
Print the book.
Promote the book.
Set the date.
Easy? Not always.
Worth it? Every time.
What I didn’t expect was the ripple effect:
While I originally set out to write one book… two books came to life. While I didn’t plan to have merchandise… a custom plush toy was born. And now, something new is unfolding. While it’s not officially announced just yet, my late nights have been filled with something exciting! Literacy kit creation for classrooms! It’s my next vision. I've been in my office, sketching out ideas, crafting kits, and texting family, friends, and teacher pals to ask, “Can you see this?”
And the more they say “Yes!," the more I can see it.
That’s the power of vision. When others believe in it too, the picture gets clearer.
And here’s the part that really fuels me:
I love my role at Seni. It’s my full-time commitment and one I take seriously. But growing a personal brand, The Traveling Saleslady, fuels my sales passion. And that passion fuels my work at Seni.
And vice versa.
You don’t have to choose. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Life in tandem? That’s where vision really thrives.
The Traveling Saleslady presents: Bedbug in a Mug: When Mom's Away
And here’s something I’m especially proud of:
For every copy sold of my children’s book, Bedbug in a Mug: When Mom’s Away, supporting literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial education at a young age felt like a natural extension of the vision, another ripple I didn’t originally plan but now couldn’t imagine this project without.
A lot of people have hobbies that fill their free time. Some head to the gym. Some dive into TV shows or sports.
Me? I choose sales.
Sales is my profession, yes, but it’s also my hobby. My creative outlet. My energizer.
But here’s what I know for sure: The execution of a vision is rarely a one-person show.
One of the most powerful ripple effects of this venture has been the creation of three unique, exclusive coaching courses for salespeople. These aren’t just about hitting quotas, they’re about real life on the road. Sales. Safety. Sanity. Work-life balance.
I’m beyond grateful to be collaborating with four incredible women who bring their own magic, brilliance, and lived experience into this next wave:
Erin Thompson, Angie Gray, Lauren Caulfield, and Syya Yasotornrat, thank you for not just being part of the ripple effects, but for being more like a beautiful wave of positivity, insight, and generosity. These courses will be better because of you.
Stay tuned: These trainings are coming soon, and they’re going to change how people sell and live!
So, here’s my encouragement to you:
𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Big or small. Personal or professional. Start by imagining what it could look like.
Work backwards.
Let it ripple.
And then?
Let it grow into something even better than you imagined.
